AIIMS Toppers 2007-2014 – What Are They Up to Now?

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is considered to be the dream institute for each medical contender in India. It is supposed to be the Everest of Medical Studies and every wannabe doctor looks it with great esteem in India. Reaching the AIIMS rank 1 needs focused, qualitative and proactive study. AIIMS offers the confidence and experience to the students needed to compete in virtually any sphere whether it’s a global workplace or corporate healthcare field. Here are some of the AIIMS toppers and what they are doing now.

Savinay Kapur – AIIMS All India Rank 5 2007
Savinay Kapur from Delhi topped all the medical entrance tests in 2007. He studied from Delhi Public School, RK Puram. He was awarded at the Annual Convocation of AIIMS by President Pranab Mukherjee as the MBBS exam topper. Currently, he has built his career in medicine after completing his Masters. He also had interested in pediatrics. Recently, he shifted to medicine because of not having any interest in surgery.

Dr. Abhimanyu Nehra – AIIMS AIR 1 2011
He secured AIIMS All India Rank 1 in 2011 and ranked 6th in PGI Chandigarh. After completing MBBS from PGIMS Rohtak, he joined Discussion Series and DAMS Test. He tried hard to top the AIIMS and was successful to do so.

Arnab Aggarwal – AIPMT AIR 1 2013
Arnab Aggarwal from Chandigarh topped MBBS/PMT exam in AIIMS on July 2013. He successfully secured Rank II at NEET-UG 2013 and he is studying cardiology at present. He is aimed to become cardiologist and heart is his subject of interest. According to him, the number of diabetes, heart-related problems and patients are consistently rising in the country. After completing his education, he is aspiring to practice and settle in Chandigarh.

Pattisapu Srividya – AIIMS AIR 1 2014
Pattisapu Srividya from Vishakhapatnam has topped MBBS Exam in AIIMS on June 2014. She achieved high ranks in several medical entrance tests, including AIR 9 in JIPMER, 7th rank in EAMCET, AIR 8 in Manipal Medical Entrance Exam, AIR 59 in AIPMT and AIR 1 in AIIMS. Currently, she is aimed to make big in Molecular Biology and she is studying it.

Arvind Subramanian – AIIMS AIR 4 2014
He topped AIIMS Entrance Exam 2014 and obtained impressive All India Ranking in different competitive exams in medicine, including AIPMT, JIPMER and KEAM. Currently he is pursuing medical studies in JIPMER, Pondicherry.


These are the most successful and leading AIIMS toppers. AIIMS has been the stepping stone for the students who are looking to make it big in Medical Sciences. 

Results of AIIMS MBBS Declared – Over 7000 Candidates Qualified

The results of the Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) exam were announced on the official website on June 14, 2016. From Chandigarh, five candidates have been listed in top 100. According to the sources, around 7137 students passed the exam successfully out of 1,89,357 students. According to Dr. Ashok Jaryal, Sub Dean AIIMS, the exam was held on May 29 and 189357 applicants were appeared of which, 7137 candidates were qualified and over 2000 students will be qualified for counseling.

In a recent PTI report, Dr. Jaryal further added that the counseling sessions will be held in several rounds on July 4. In addition, the institute will offer 672 seats this year.

A student from Government Model School, Chandigarh, Arushi has secured All India Rank 10 and topped the AIIMS Exam. While addressing the exam to Chandigarh Newsline, she added that since she was a child, she was interested to study medicine to save lives. She is happy that she will be able to live her dream life.

About her plans and preparation
According to the reports, after AIIMS Rank 1 , she now wants to join AIIMS, New Delhi. While disclosing her strategy in exam preparation, she added that it’s about the hard work you want to put in. You have to study on regular basis. Along with her parents, even her elder brother has been the role model for her.

Here’s what second Chandigarh topper says –

Japnoor Kaur from Shishu Niketan School Chandigarh secured AIR 32. She is the second topper in top 100 List. About her achievement, she added that she had to revise subjects same day she learn them. Along with this, she has to ensure that she understands the concepts clearly. In addition, she is willing to join AIIMS, New Delhi and start her career in genetics research.
